GETTING THERE
The house is a 10 minute drive from Bergerac, a spectacular ancient town on one of the most scenic stretches of the famous Dordogne River. It lies at the heart of one of France’s premier wine growing regions and has wonderful food markets and restaurants around the old cathedral.
It is one of the easiest places to get to in Southern France. The house is located ten minutes (the other side of the hill, so you can neither hear nor see a thing) from Bergerac airport, one of the most relaxed in the world. Flybe fly direct from Southampton and Exeter and Ryanair from Stansted. There are also direct services from Leeds.
Bordeaux, a major transport hub, is an hour and a half away and is an excellent alternative as it offers a wider choice of flights from more airports and car hire is easy to arrange.
We are about an eight or nine hour drive from the tunnel at Calais.
It is worth bearing in mind that this is a brilliant weekend destination (please see rates and availability). |
